Chulani was a tiny room, my father’s only private space and escape room, where he kept mostly wine, self-made too and dried snacks, like Churchkhelas. No chairs would fit in, but it was big enough for three men to talk over a glass of good Georgian wine on an impromptu table from old cask and wooden top covered with newspapers. Sometimes old gramophone would play soviet vinyls and georgian folk songs.
